Boundaries with Kids (Dr. Henry Cloud, Dr. John Townsend)
I’ve often said that boundaries are like bumpers on a bowling alley. They provide needed structure for success! When you provide boundaries for your kids the reality is that you are not limiting them or restricting them, but they will actually feel safe and will thrive when they know what their boundaries are. Do people overdo these? Yes. Do people abandon them completely? Yes. This book is great when applied with balance, and when keeping in mind that boundaries will complement each child’s needs, personality, and if needed, their strong-willed character.

The Blessing (John Trent, Ph.D., Gary Smalley)
Such a great book. Biblical blessing is such a huge part of life, and so many people miss out on this! This book starts off with the Biblical story of Isaac when he is ready to bless his son Esau – until Jacob and his mom conspire a plan to steal this blessing. Why was this such a big deal?
Someone recently said that they were just a couple chapters in, but this book ‘changed their life’. That’s the thing about God, He can use people, books, or anything else to change our lives, we just need to jump in and hear from Him. This book looks at our lives and if we have received this blessing or not, what to do, and then how we can be agents of blessing to our kids, and a generation that is in desperate need.
